The University of Chicago’s Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation needed a new video to explain exactly what they do and why it’s important for scientists and inventors to protect their intellectual property from exploitation. We learned that with videos such as this, there tends to be some friendly competition and one-upsmanship in their field so the explainer needed to stand out.
The script had a conversational tone to it and our motion designer, Jason Zenz, decided to make use of a DIY-style of collage to illustrate the concepts and highlight the very cool Polsky logo while doing so. The result is a modern, visually engaging explainer in a world that is used to seeing whiteboard and line art styles. The folks at UChicago agreed that we went above and beyond for this which is exactly the reaction we hoped to achieve.
